The Ultimate Fighting Championship returned to Riyadh and it did not seem to disappoint with some close contests, underdog victories and some vicious knockouts.

Hamdy Abdelwahab started the event off with a narrow split decision win against Jamal Pogues with some fans believing there was controversy with the judges’ scorecards.

The first stoppage win of the night went to Bodgan Grad as he earned a first-round TKO victory, throwing some deadly strikes on the ground which left Lucas Alexander defenceless.

Jasmine Jasudavicius made it four consecutive wins in the UFC as she gave Mayra Bueno Silva a big unwelcome back to the Women’s Flyweight division, claiming a dominant unanimous decision win.

Redemption was found in Riyadh when Terrence McKinney recovered from his first-round knockout loss at UFC St Louis with one of his own, defeating Damir Hadzovic by TKO.

Shamil Gaziev impressed the Saudi Arabian crowd when he knocked out Thomas Petersen with a wild right-hand in the first round, making it his ninth first-round stoppage win of his MMA career.

The Preliminary Card ended with a convincing display from Muhammad Naimov who defeated Kaan Ofli by unanimous decision to get back in the win column.

Fares Ziam opened up the Main Card with a clear unanimous decision win against Mike Davis, increasing his winning streak to five and making himself a one-to-watch in the Lightweight division.

Vinicius Oliveira successfully went the distance to secure an unanimous decision triumph against Said Nurmagomedov in what was a thrilling three-round war.

In surprising fashion, Sergei Pavlovich won by unanimous decision against Jairzinho Rozenstruik to maintain his #4 Heavyweight ranking. His first decision win since June 2017.

Michael “Venom” Page made Shara Magomedov feel uncomfortable in the Octagon as his awkward fighting style would earn him a win on his UFC Middleweight debut and stop The Bullet’s undefeated record.

Just when you thought the Co-Main Event had a shocking moment, the Main Event certainly had everyone dropping their jaws in disbelief as Nassourdine Imavov knocked out Israel Adesanya in round two if their five-round bout.

A win which gives The Sniper the right to enter title contention, while retirement plans could strike the mind of the Last Stylebender after suffering his third consecutive loss.

The next upcoming event takes place next Saturday as Sydney, Australia hosts UFC 312 which showcases an anticipating Middleweight title rematch between Dricus Du Plessis and Sean Strickland, along with an exciting Strawweight matchup as Zhang Weili defends her title against Tatiana Suarez.
