With only the play offs being still up for grabs everything came down to the last day for four clubs to get a place to battle it out to try and get to the top flight. Here's what could have happened before the 3 o'clock kick offs.
Coventry City played Middleborough (A) – Avoid defeat to guarantee a top six finish. Millwall played Blackburn Rovers (H) – Win to guarantee a top six finish, defeat guarantees that they drop out. Sunderland played Preston (A) – need to win and hope either Coventry lose or Millwall fail to beat Blackburn. West Brom played Swansea City (A) – Need to win and need Millwall to drop points. Also need to rely on goal difference
in the event of a Coventry loss or Sunderland win. Blackburn Rovers played Millwall (A) – Need to win and need both Sunderland and West Brom to drop points.
