Premier League Top 4 Predictions - Joshua Lucas

With the Pre-season coming to a close within the next week or so, the excitement for competitive football has started to grow again. This can only mean one thing for anyone in the world of media, its prediction time. In the next week or so, you will see some unbelievable but also some shocking predictions on how the most unpredictable league in the world will end up.

4th- Manchester United

Position last season : 3rd

A successful season for Ten Hag's United. Champions League football secured, Carabao Cup triumph against Newcastle United and an FA Cup final appearance against Manchester City but coming up short in the end.

With the signing of Andre Onana coming in to replace long term servant David De Gea, this will allow Ten Hag to continue implementing his possession style of play into his United side. The signing of Mount will also be massive for Ten Hag's side. Mount will bring not only goals and assists but will bring Champions League winning experience to Old Trafford.

For me the reds are still missing a clinical and experienced striker before they challenge for the title.

3rd -Liverpool

Position last season: 5th

Coming off the back of a poor season, Klopp will be determind to get the Merseyside club back up and running. Last season was very much a transitional period for Liverpool, losing a big player like Mane and bringing in Nunez as his replacement for a lot of money there was going to be pressure on the team to perform especially after a very good season the year before.

This season with them getting that midfield overhaul they've been crying out for in recent seasons. The signings of Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and potentially Romeo Lavia to replace an ageing midfield of Henderson, Milner and Fabinho.

I think they'll step up following a disappointing 2022/23 season with Nunez Gakpo and Salah gelling like a proper front three, they'll get Champions League football next season at a minimum adding maybe a trophy or two to the cabinet.

2nd - Arsenal

Position last season: 2nd

Mikel Artetas side may have missed out on the league title late on in the season due to their drop in form, but for Arsenals standards it was a successful season for them.

Adding fire power to the attack of Kai Havertz who will play a massive part in not only their Premier league season but also their Champions League campaign bringing that experience of winning the competition, even scoring in the final.

Declan Rice will also play a key part in the midfield. Bringing experience and energy to the Gunners midfield after leaving West Ham who he captained to a European Conference title in his final game for the Hammers.

I think Arsenal will just miss out on the title again this season due to the added pressure of Champions League football, but I do think that they will improve and add to last seasons success

1st - Manchester City

Position Last season: 1st

I'm betting on Manchester City to win four straight titles. It's quite difficult to argue with a team that has recently added the treble to that, made history by becoming the first English top-flight squad to win four in a row, and has now won six out of a possible eight titles under Pep Guardiola.

With Haaland supposedly coming back better than last season is a scary thought considering he only scored 36 Premier League goals last term.

The premier League is very unpredictable but I cant see City finishing anywhere but top of the table come the end of May.
