5 Big transfers that may happen during the January transfer window

Following one of the most memorable Summer transfer windows in football history: the rapid rise of the Saudi Pro League as a transfer option for big name players such as the likes of Sadio Mane and Neymar Jr, who are just two of the big names to join Cristiano Ronaldo in making the move from Europe to the Middle East. There were also £100 million plus moves for the likes of Declan Rice, Moises Caicedo and Jude Bellingham. I don't think we have a seen the last of the Saudi transfer takeover and there could be big moves made by European giants

5. Jadon Sancho to Borussia Dortmund

Another day another Manchester United controversy. There was no Jadon Sancho in the United squad for a 3-1 defeat at the Emirates due to "Poor performances in training" according to Ten Hag. These comments from the Dutch boss did not go very well with Sancho, who then took to social media to retaliate. Sancho responded with a now-deleted statement on social media platform X, saying he had been made a "scapegoat" at Old Trafford.

Due to Sancho being forced to train by himself until he apologises to his manager, the 23 year old could be looking for a loan move away to recapture his form to show his manager what type of player he can be.

A potential club could be his former club Borussia Dortmund. Sancho put his name on the world scene in Germany during his four year stay before his move back to Manchester, a loan move was rumoured on deadline day but nothing materialised and it's likely Dortmund will go back in for him in January.

4.  Palhinha to Bayern Munich

Despite the midfielder signed a new contract with Fulham at the end of last week, Fabrizio Romano claims that Bayern Munich is still interested in acquiring Joao Palhinha in January.

On Deadline Day last month, Palhinha was in Munich, but his transfer to Bayern failed.

There is no release clause in the new contract for the Portugal international.

3. Harry Maguire to West Ham

Another transfer that seems to have continued all summer long.

Despite having various choices available to him, being stripped of the Man Utd leadership hasn't deterred him from wanting to play for the team.

Raphael Varane's most recent injury has forced him to remain, although West Ham could come in for the England international once again during the Winter transfer window

2. Scott Mctominay to Bayern Munich

This transfer depends on what happens between Bayern and Fulham during negotiating terms for Palhinha if Bayern decide to pursue other targets it could lead them to sign the Scotsman after being 'managed out the club' by current manager Ten Hag.

McTominay from Manchester United is a key player on Thomas Tuchel's desired list. McTominay, who attracted interest from West Ham in the summer, is far down the Old Trafford pecking order, and the addition of Sofyan Amrabat has not made matters any better.

1. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to Athletico Madrid

Close to joining Manchester United in the summer transfer window before opting to sign Amrabat on loan from Fiorentina late into the window.

The Danish midfielder doesn't currently seem to be in Postecoglou's plans and has just entered his final 2 years of his contract. Spurs will surely be looking to cash in on him before he enters his final year of his deal in the summer of 2024.

Hojbjerg will also be looking for first team football ahead of the Euros in the summer.
