The UFC APEX is back to hosting another Fight Night for the first time since over a month as once again MMA fans will witness some non-stop action. The headliner of this event features the #3 Strawweight contender, Amanda Lemos, taking on the #5 contender, Virna Jandiroba, as both Brazilians try to earn a shot for UFC Strawweight Gold. Here is everything you need to know before it all kicks off.

Amanda Lemos last fought in February at UFC 298 where she redeemed her title loss with an unanimous decision win over Mackenzie Dern, keeping her high in the rankings and only one fight away from another possible title shot.

Before her title fight against Zhang Weili at UFC 292, Amandinha had been fighting actively in the UFC in both 2021 and 2022, fighting three times a year with five wins out of six fights in the space of two years.

The Belem-born fighter is mostly dangerous on her feet as eight of her 14 MMA wins have ended by KO/TKO, with three of those happening in the UFC as she stands in second for the most KO/TKO wins in UFC Strawweight history.

Lemos has the chance to begin a winning streak and put herself in title contention as she looks to hold on to the #3 contender's spot in the Strawweight rankings.

Virna Jandiroba last fought at the end of March as she picked up an unanimous decision victory against Loopy Godinez at UFC Atlantic City, putting herself one step closer to being in an argument for title contention.

Carcara is currently on a three-fight winning streak with unanimous decision wins over Marina Rodriguez and Angela Hill as well as her most recent bout earlier on in the year.

The Serrinha-born mixed martial artist is a big submission threat in the Octagon as out of 20 wins, 13 have ended by submission which has made her such as scary opponent in the organisation as well as the fact that she has never been stopped in her MMA career.

If she plays her cards right, Jandiroba may just defeat her fellow Brazilian opponent as a win will move her closer towards the top of the rankings, with the opportunity to face the Queen of the Strawweights, Zhang Weili.

Other fights you should look out for

Brad Tavares vs Park Jun-yong - Tavares last fought at UFC Vegas 86 where he would suffer the wrath of Gregory Rodrigues, losing by third-round TKO. The Hawaiin mixed martial artist has been fighting with the UFC since June 2010 and has a lot of experience fighting prospects and future champions. Tavares will want to get back to winning ways as well as earn a stoppage win, not claiming one of those since April 2018 when he won by third-round TKO.

Jun-yong was on a four-fight winning streak until he suffered a close split decision loss to Andre Muniz at UFC Vegas 83. Before his recent loss, The Iron Turtle had secured three consecutive submission victories against Joseph Holmes, Denis Tiuliulin, and Albnert Duraev. The South Korean will be aiming to get back on track and possibly earn his seventh submission win of his MMA career.

Choi Doo-ho vs Vill Algeo - Doo-ho has not fought since February 2023 when he earned a majority draw against Kyle Nelson at UFC Vegas 68. Before that fight, the Daegu-born fighter had not battled in the UFC for over three years, while not being victorious since July 2016 as hasn't claimed a win in his last four fights. The Korean Superboy looks to get redemption in the APEX and taste victory for the first time in eight years.

Algeo's last fight did not go to plan when he suffered a first-round TKO loss to Kyle Nelson at UFC Atlantic City, earlier on this year. Senor Perfecto had a great year in 2023 when he earned a second-round submission win against TJ Brown at UFC Kansas City, followed by an unanimous decision win over Alexander Hernandez at UFC Vegas 80. Algeo will aim to get back in the win column and find a way to get one step closer to being near the Featherweight rankings.

Miranda Maverick vs Dione Barbosa - Maverick last fought in February where she triumphed at UFC 298, winning by unanimous decision against Andrea Lee. The Missouri-born fighter is a big submission threat with eight of her 15 wins ending by her opponents tapping out and despite five losses on her record, she has never been stopped in her MMA career. Maverick was previously in the Flyweight rankings before the aftermath of other fights would kick her out as she looks to be a contender of the 125-pound division once again.

Barbosa made her UFC debut in her last fight, earning an unanimous decision win against Ernesta Kareckaite at UFC 301. The Witch is unbeaten in four fights and has earned three submission wins in her nine-fight career, proving to be a dangerous fighter on the ground. Looking like a potential contender, the Brazilian has the chance to beat a former contender of the Flyweight division and possibly enter the rankings, depending on the outcome of her victory.

Which Brazilian will take the victory in the Main Event of UFC Vegas 94? Which fight are you looking forward to the most?
