Published on 17 October 2024 at 11:00

Dana White gave MMA fans something to look forward to at the end of the year as the last UFC PPV event of 2024 would have two title bouts confirmed, as well as two other anticipating matchups. Here are all the fights that the UFC's president announced for UFC 310.

belal muhammad vs shavkat rakhmonov

A title fight which have many of the MMA community who should be the favourite of this 170-pound title bout as the #3 contender, Shavkat Rakhmonov, challenges Belal Muhammad for the belt.

Muhammad earned the biggest win of his MMA career after becoming the UFC Welterweight Champion when he defeated Leon Edwards by unanimous decision at UFC 304.

Remember The Name has shown why he is such a tough opponent in the Welterweight division, currently standing on an 11-fight unbeaten streak. Seven of those bouts occurred at PPV events and three of those, Muhammad would be the headliner.

The Palestine fighter is known to take fights to a decision, only holding six stoppage victories out of 24 career wins. The UFC Welterweight Champion is tied for the second most decision wins in the 170-pound division with a total of 12.

Fighting out of Chicago, Muhammad has beaten some of the best contenders in the division, these include; Gilbert Burns, Sean Brady, Vicente Luque, Stephen Thompson, and Demain Maia.

Not only is Muhammad looking to start off his title reign in the UFC and make his first successful defence, he will also be trying to become the fighter to ever defeat his opponent.

Rakhmonov has been destined the opportunity to fight for UFC Gold after his impressive run in the UFC, especially when he became the first fighter to defeat Stephen Thompson by submission which happened in the second round at UFC 296.

Nomad remains undefeated in his MMA career with 18 victories and all of those triumphs have ended with a finish with eight coming by KO/TKO and 10 ending by submission.

The Kazakh mixed martial artist has only had six fights in the promotion, three of those bouts happened at a PPV event and the other three appearing at the UFC APEX.

The 29-year-old has not failed to impress when it comes to facing well-known faces in the UFC, defeating Stephen Thompson, Geoff Neal, Neil Magny, and Alex Oliveira, with all of those fights ending by submission.

With such an impressive MMA record, Rakhmonov will not only aim to keep his 100% finish rate and stay undefeated, but has the chance to become the first UFC Champion to come from Kazakhstan.

alexandre pantoja vs kai asakura

One of the most unexpected fight announcements as Alexandre Pantoja plans to continue his reign of terror with the Flyweight title as he defends it against Kai Asakura who makes his first-ever UFC appearance.

Pantoja has made himself one of the best UFC Flyweight Champions after earning an unanimous decision victory against Steve Erceg at UFC 301, successfully defending the 125-pound belt for a second time.

The Cannibal is currently standing on a six-fight winning streak with three of those being title fights, four of those occurring at PPV events.

The King of the Flyweights has had his fair share of stoppage wins in his career, earning 10 of his 28 wins by KO/TKO and eight of those by submission. Surprisingly, Pantoja has only had six finishes in the UFC with his last stoppage win happening at UFC 277 when he submitted Alex Perez in the first round.

The Rio-born fighter has built an incredible resume on his MMA record, defeating some of the toughest Flyweights such as; Brandon Moreno, Brandon Royval, Manel Kape, and Matt Schnell.

Pantoja is facing an opponent with no experience in the UFC as he looks to take full advantage of that, making him a big favourite in this co-main event for UFC 310.

Asakura is very well-known in MMA promotion, Rizin Fighting Federation (Rizin FF), and in his recent bout, he managed to capture the Bantamweight Championship when he defeated Juan Archuleta by second-round TKO.

The Japanese fighter has earned most of his MMA triumphs by knockout as 13 of his 21 wins have ended by KO/TKO, although Asakura has pulled out some submissions in his locker, earning three wins by submitting his opponents.

Three of the Toyohashi-born fighter's four losses have been title fights as two of those ended by knockout, while one ended by unanimous decision.

The UFC debutant has held impressive wins in Rizin FF over the likes of; Yuki Motoya, Hiromasa Ougikubo, Kyoji Horiguchi and Manel Kape.

Asakura has the opportunity to make history in MMA by becoming the UFC Flyweight Champion in just his first fight with the promotion as he aims to put the whole division on notice.

vicente luque vs nick diaz

A bout which was originally scheduled for UFC Abu Dhabi in August, but due to travelling issues, the fight moves to December as Nick Diaz has the chance to a Welterweight contender once again as he takes on the #14 contender, Vicente Luque.

Luque suffered quite the defeat in his last bout when he lost to Joaquin Buckley by second-round TKO at UFC Atlantic City, rapidly moving down the Welterweight rankings.

The Silent Assassin has only earned one victory in his last four fights when he defeated Rafael Dos Anjos by unanimous decision at UFC Vegas 78. Before his slight downfall, Luque was on a four-fight winning streak, stopping all of his opponents.

It is rare for the Brazilian to take a fight to the judges scorecards as 19 of his 22 MMA triumphs have ended with a finish, 11 ending by KO/TKO and eight ending with a submission.

The Westwood-born fighter has stopped some of the most dangerous opponents in the Welterweight division; including Michael Chiesa, Tyron Woodley, Randy Brown, and Jalin Turner.

Luque is in desperate need of getting back in the win column and will want to do so as his #14 Welterweight rankings is on the line at the T-Mobile Arena.

A lot of MMA have awaited the return of Diaz after his last appearance didn't go as planned, losing to Robbie Lawler by third-round TKO in a Middleweight bout at UFC 266.

The former Strikeforce Welterweight Champion last fought at Welterweight back in March 2013 when he challenged Georges St-Pierre for the UFC Welterweight title at UFC 158, but would lose by unanimous decision.

The Californian is known to earn finishes in MMA, stopping a total of 13 opponents by KO/TKO and eight by submission out of the 26 fighters he has conquered. Diaz was previously on a 10-fight winning streak in other MMA promotions before re-joining the UFC, finishing nine of his 10 opponents.

The Stockton-born mixed martial artist has defeated some big names in MMA, including the likes of; BJ Penn, Robbie Lawler, Paul Daley, and Gleison Tibau.

It is unsure whether this bout will be Diaz's last fight in MMA, but he sure would like the opportunity to enter the Welterweight rankings at just 41 years of age.

ciryl gane vs alexander volkov

A Heavyweight rematch which a lot predicted would happen and the bout was going to take place at UFC 308, but due to an injury from Alexander Volkov, the fight would be rescheduled to Las Vegas as Ciryl Gane tries to repeat history against the Russian.

Gane found another title redeeming victory in his last fight after stopping Serghei Spivac by second-round TKO at UFC Paris. This would be his second win in his home country after defeating Tai Tuivasa by third-round knockout the year before.

Bon Gamin has been involved in three title fights with the UFC; winning the interim UFC Heavyweight title against Derrick Lewis at UFC 265, but would fail to capture the undisputed belt against Francis Ngannou at UFC 270 and Jon Jones at UFC 285.

The Frenchman prefers to finish his opponents, securing six KO/TKO victories and three submission wins.

The 34-year-old entered the UFC with just three fights in MMA and has since caught the eye of the MMA community by beating the likes of; Junior Dos Santos, Alexander Volkov, and Jairzinho Rozenstruik.

Gane currently sits at #2 in the Heavyweight rankings as he still believes he can become an undisputed champion in the organisation, but first, he'll need to make a statement win at UFC 310.

Volkov continued to impress with his recent performances after earning an unanimous decision win over former teammate, Sergei Pavlovich, at UFC Saudi Arabia, raising him to #3 in the Heavyweight rankings.

Drago is currently on a four-fight winning streak, two of those bouts have ended by first-round TKO against Jairzinho Rozenstriuik and Alexander Romanov, plus a second-round submission win over Tai Tuivasa at UFC 293.

The Moscow-born fighter has earned plenty of stoppage wins out of his 38 triumphs in MMA, defeating 24 of his opponents by KO/TKO and four by submission.

The Russian has defeated some of the biggest contenders in the UFC and has not failed to shine when he has defeated; Fabricio Werdum, Stefan Struve, Alistair Overeem, and Marcin Tybura.

Volkov may potentially get the biggest win of his career if he is successful against Gane as it will most likely guarantee him a shot for title glory in the Heavyweight division.
