Before the anticipating action at UFC 308, the APEX hosts one more fight night with plenty of exciting bouts. The Main Event showcases the #13 Middleweight contender, Anthony Hernandez, takes on the #14 contender, Michel Pereira. Here is everything you need to know before UFC Vegas 99 begins.

Anthony Hernandez maintained his position in the Middleweight rankings after earning a second-round submission win over Roman Kopylov at UFC 298.

Fluffy is currently on a five-fight winning streak with his last three bouts ending with a finish which include a third-round submission win over Marc-Andre Barriault, and a second-round TKO victory against Edmen Shahbazyan, as well as his most recent triumph.

The Dunnigan-born fighter has rarely gone the distance in his MMA career, securing eight submissions, two KO/TKO wins and has only claimed one unanimous decision win in the UFC.

The #13 Middleweight contender will aim to maintain his ranking once again as he tries to increase his winning streak before facing a higher ranked opponent in the 185-pound division.

Michel Pereira has amazed the crowd in his last two fights, earning two quick first-round submissions wins around the first minute against Michal Oleksiejczuk at UFC 299 and Ihor Potieria at UFC 301.

Demolidor stands on an eight-fight winning streak with his last three wins occurring in the Middleweight division, all ending with a first-round stoppage.

The Brazilian likes to make fights exciting, but also likes to make quick work of his opponents with 14 of his 20 finishes in MMA happening in the first round.

The #14 contender has been a rising star in the Middleweight division and could rise up further if he is victorious against Hernandez and if he earns another stoppage win, he may have the potential to become a UFC Champion.

other fights you should look out for

Rob Font vs Kyler Phillips - Font is on the search for redemption as he remains on a two-fight losing streak, suffering his most recent defeat to Deiveson Figueiredo by unanimous decision at UFC Austin. With 20 victories, the Puerto Rican has stopped 13 of his opponents and has only been finished once in his career which was a submission loss to Pedro Munhoz at UFC Sao Paulo. The #10 Bantamweight contender has only won once in his last five fights as he tries to get back to winning ways.

Phillips is gradually rising up the Bantamweight rankings, sitting on a three-fight winning streak with his last bout ending by unanimous decision against Pedro Munhoz at UFC 299. The Matrix has won the majority of his fights by knockout, but has snuck some submissions in his MMA record, earning 5 KO/TKO and two submission victories. The #12 contender has a great chance to move up into the top 10 and become a real problem in the 135-pound division.

Charles Johnson vs Su Mudaerji - Johnson has redeemed a three-fight winning streak with his own three-fight winning streak, recently defeating Joshua Van by third-round knockout at UFC Denver. InnerG occasionally takes a fight to a decision, but prefers to finish his opponents as the Kansas-born fighter has earned seven KO/TKO wins and three submission triumphs. A win for Johnson will not only increase his win streak, but it will put him one fight away from a spot in the Flyweight rankings.

Su Mudaerji has been unfortunate in his last two fights, losing by submission to Matt Schnell at UFC Long Island and Tim Elliott at UFC Vegas 83. The Tibetan Eagle has won 13 of his 16 victorious bouts by KO/TKO, just showing how could of a knockout artist he can be. The Chinese fighter was previously in the 125-pound rankings before his two-fight losing streak, so redemption is needed at the UFC APEX.

Matheus Nicolau vs Asu Almabayev - Nicolau was previously on a six-fight winning streak, before he suffered two knockouts losses to Brandon Royval at UFC Kansas City and Alex Perez at UFC Vegas 91. The Brazilian can be dangerous on the feet or ground with five wins a piece coming by KO/TKO and submission. The #7 Flyweight contender is in a good position in the rankings and will not want to lose his place as he is in desperate need for redemption.

Almabayev is currently on a 16-fight winning streak with his last three bouts occurring in the UFC, winning his last fight against Jose Johnson by unanimous decision at UFC Vegas 93. Zulfikar likes to take the fight on the ground, claiming nine submission wins out of 20 career victories. The #14 contender has a fabulous chance to boost up the Flyweight rankings and potentially be one or two fights away from being in title contention.

Who will secure the victory in the Main Event? Which fight are you looking forward to the most?
