2024 Australian Darts Masters: Price Crushes Littler 8-1 To Win 2nd Title Of The Year

Gerywn Price has won his second World Series title of the year after a decisive 8-1 win over Luke Littler in the final of the 2024 Australian Darts Masters in Wollongong.

Price, who earlier in the night had been taken to last leg shootouts against both Damon Heta and Peter Wright (6-5 and 7-6) respectively, produced one more stellar performance in the final to follow up on his Nordic Darts Masters victory just a few months ago.

Racing into a 5-0 lead in the race to 8, Price's average and clinical finishing was just too much for Littler, who was in his fourth World Series final of the year.

Littler, who himself had looked immensely impressive against Michael Smith and Dimitri Van den Bergh prior to the final, could only muster up 8.3% on his checkouts, with 1 taken from 12 opportunities.

Whilst Littler soon got his sole consolation leg, Price remained relentless, pushing his average to just under a ton to wrap up an 8-1 win in perhaps his biggest victory of the year to date.

With just one more event in the 2024 World Series of Darts to go, next weekend in New Zealand, Price is finding momentum at just the right time, where the Welsh No.1 will be hoping to once again become the overall World Series Champion like he was back in 2022.

It's been a tough couple of years for Price on the PDC televised circuit: despite being one of the players with the highest three dart averages on the tour (only Luke Humphries, Littler, and Gary Anderson have been better), major darting silverware has eluded the Iceman since 2022's World Series Finals triumph, aside from the 2023 World Cup as part of the Wales team with Jonny Clayton.
