'He wins in Spa, he wins in Monza': Charles Leclerc wins Monza Grand Prix

Ferrari's Charles Leclerc won the Monza GP last Sunday ahead of McLaren drivers Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris.

A Tifosi fuelled crowd cheered on the Monegasque as he crossed the finish line to take his second win of the 2024 season

The McLaren duo started on the front line with Norris on pole after an impressive qualifying session on Saturday.

Piastri was quick on his teammates tail as he overtook Norris after the green flag which lodged Norris in front of Mercedes' George Russell in third place.

A one-stop strategy for Ferrari eventually paid off in the end but Carlos Sainz lost his chances of joining his team-mate on the podium as he finished fourth on his 30th birthday.

Lewis Hamilton settled in fifth driving his last race in Monza for Mercedes before he moves to Ferrari for next season.

Red Bull's Max Verstappen only managed sixth place gaining one spot from his qualifying position after struggling for pace after the Belgian Grand Prix defeat.

Sergio Perez added an extra three points for the constructors title finishing eight behind George Russell in seventh.

William's looked strong with Alex Albon grabbing two points for the team finishing ninth with Haas' Kevin Magnussen taking the last spot in the top ten despite receiving a time penalty.

Spaniard Fernando Alonso finished P11 just missing out on points for Aston Martin with debutant Franco Colapinto in P12 for Williams following Logan Sargeants shock departure earlier last week.

Daniel Ricciardo landed P13 also clocking two time penalties in the early parts of the race.

Esteban Ocon took charge of the Apline finishing ahead of his teammate Pierre Gasly in P14 with the Kick Sauber of Valtteri Bottas following behind in P16.

The other half of the Haas duo, Nico Hulkenburg, ended up P17, Zhou Guanyu in 18th and Lance Stroll in 19th.

Yuki Tsunoda was the only retiree of the race after a collision with Hulkenburg leading him back into the garage and watching the rest of the race from the sidlines.

The 20 drivers have a weekend off before heading to Azerbaijan for round 17 of the 2024 season.

Will we see another consecutive pole from Lando Norris and can Red Bull find their feet again?
