The UFC returns for its annual hosting in Mexico City as the Arena CDMX shines the light on the Octagon. The Main Event showcases a Flyweight matchup between the #2 contender, Brandon Moreno, against the #8 contender, Steve Erceg. Here is everything you need to know before it all begins in Mexico.

Moreno recovered from his two consecutive split decision losses with an unanimous decision win against Amir Albazi at UFC Edmonton, keeping himself at the top of the rankings.

The former UFC Flyweight Champion has taken out some of the toughest names in the division, including Deiveson Figueiredo, Brandon Royval and Kai Kara-France.

The Assassin Baby has stopped 16 of his 22 conquered opponents, achieving five KO/TKO victories and 11 submissions.

The #2 Flyweight contender is aiming to find his way back into a title shot as if he can stop a former challenger for the belt, he may just get his reward.

Erceg is currently on a two-fight losing streak after suffering a first-round TKO loss to Kara-France at UFC 305, making it his second loss in just five fights with the organisation.

Astroboy was previously on a three-fight winning streak in the UFC, defeating contenders such as David Dvorak, Alessandro Costa and Matt Schnell.

With 12 wins in MMA, the Australian has finished eight of those battles with two ending by KO/TKO and six by submission.

The #8 contender has suffered a severe quick downfall from his last fight, but a win will boost him high up the 125-pound division and grant him a possible title rematch against Alexandre Pantoja.

other fights you should look out for

Manuel Torres vs Drew Dober - Torres' six-fight winning streak came to an end when he suffered a first-round TKO defeat to Ignacio Bahamondes at UFC 306. El Loco rarely takes fights to the distance, earning 14 finishes with a share of seven wins each by KO/TKO and submission, all ending in the first round. The Mexican is looking to redeem himself in his home country and preferably do it inside the first round of the fight.

Dober is currently on a two-fight losing streak after he was vanquished by a third-round TKO (Doctor Stoppage) to Jean Silva at UFC Denver. Just like his opponent, the Omaha-born fighter does not like taking the bouts to the judges scorecards, winning 15 of his 27 triumphs by KO/TKO. The former Lightweight contender has the perfect opportunity to claim redemption in the trickiest way possible as he challenges himself in enemy territory.

Kelvin Gastelum vs Joe Pyfer - Gastelum redeemed himself in his last bout when he went the distance with Daniel Rodriguez to win by unanimous decision at UFC Saudi Arabia. The San Jose-born mixed martial artist has won 20 fights with six ending by KO/TKO and submission. Gastelum has only managed to claim three wins in his last nine fights so the only thing on his mind will be victory, no matter how he gets it done.

Pyfer put himself back in the win column after knocking out Marc-Andre Barriault in the first round at UFC 303. Bodybagz has finishes 12 of his 13 conquered opponents, knocking out nine of them while submitting the other three. The New Jersey fighter has been an eye-catching prospect in the organisation as if he can beat a former title challenger and contender, he could contest for the Middleweight rankings.

Christian Rodriguez vs Melquizael Costa - Rodriguez went back to winning ways in his last fight, defeating Austin Bashi by unanimous decision at UFC Vegas 101. The American Featherweight has finished four of his opponents by KO/TKO and three by submission, despite his last four triumphs ending in a decision. Rodriguez is aiming to begin a win streak and carry some good performances in the Featherweight division, allowing him to become noticed.

Costa's last two fights have ended victoriously by submission with his last one coming against Andre Fili in the first round at UFC Seattle. Mel Cauthy has 15 stoppage wins out of 22 career victories, earning seven by KO/TKO and eight by submission. If the Brazilian can walk away with another win, especially by stoppage, he could have the opportunity to contest for a place in the Featherweight rankings.

Who gets the job done between Brandon Moreno and Steve Erceg? Which fight are you looking forward to the most?
