UFC Mexico delivered in many ways as fans laid witness to a couple of underdog wins, some close contested battles and some showstopping performances. Here is what happened in Mexico City.

Preliminary card

It all started off with Marquel Mederos winning a razor-thin split decision win against Austin Hubbard, with some fans believing that the loser should've been the winner, however with a fight being so close to judge, its very hard to give a clear winner.

The first finish of the night came from Jamall Emmers who managed to earn a TKO win at the end of the first round. Pretty Boy landed two knockdowns before a few follow up shots on the ground secured his place back in the win column.

Rafa Garcia earned redemption in his home country after he went the distance with Vinc Pichel to earn a convincing unanimous decision victory.

The #11 Strawweight contender, Loopy Godinez, maintained her ranking in the division after a decision win over Julia Polastri as both women may have had one of the best entertaining rounds of the year, going back-and-forth in their striking in the third round.

Melquizael Costa prevailed once again, increasing his winning streak to three after an unanimous decision win against Christian Rodriguez, comfortably winning the first two rounds before having a submissions scare in the third.

The featured prelim showcased a fighter who is full of potential as Ateba Gautier made pretty quick work on his UFC debut, knocking out Jose Daniel Medina with a knee strike after some stunning punches as he now holds six consecutive knockout wins.

Kevin Borjas kicked off the main card with a decision win in enemy territory against Ronaldo Rodriguez, knocking down the Mexican in the first round before a brilliant striking display for the rest of the battle.

Another UFC debutant shined as David Martinez earned a first-round TKO win against Saimon Oliveira, putting the Bantamweight division on notice for what's to come as the Black Spartan is on an eight fight winning streak with six of those bouts ending by KO/TKO.

Despite almost suffering to two dangerous submission attempts, Raul Rosas Jr claimed the victory with an unanimous decision against Vince Morales as he makes it four wins-in-a-row and a potential prospect in the 135-pound division.

Edgar Chairez put on the greatest performance of his career when defeated CJ Vergara with a wicked Face Crank in the first round after sunning the American with his sharp striking, showing plenty of emotion after the fight in front of his home crowd.

The Co-Main event did not last long, as expected, as Manuel Torres picked up his 15th first-round finish after a TKO win against Drew Dober. El Loco landed a one-two to knockdown Dober before a bunch of hammering strikes gave the referee no choice but to stop the fight.

Brandon Moreno proved why he is not only a headliner for UFC fight cards, but a top contender in the Flyweight division as he went the distance with Steve Erceg, winning by unanimous decision as his striking looked phenomenal, especially when he used his reach advantage against a taller opponent.

The next fight night goes back to the APEX as the #10 Featherweight contender, Lerone Murphy, challenges the #8 contender, Josh Emmett, in what can only be described as an action-packed war.
